Private Residence, Dallas, Texas
Reflection is explored as both a spatial condition and as a contemplative character for the landscape design of a private Dallas garden. A series of five foot by 11 foot polished stainless steel mirrors double the perceived scale of a light well while adding interest to the garden when viewed from the living room. In the backyard, a square swimming pool extends the notion of reflection while the monumental steps into it, contribute an alternative perception that another floor is added to the building. Ron Wommack, FAIA is the architect for the house.
