AT&T Performing Arts Center
Kevin Sloan Studio consulted to the Pritzker Prize architects, Foster & Partners for the Winspear Opera House and to OMA for the Wylie Multi-form Theater for a new mixed-use performing arts center in the Dallas Arts District. Embolden by microclimate research and measurements made by Kevin Sloan Studio, along with evaporative cooling studies provided by Battle + McCarthy of London, Foster & Partners developed a monumental shade canopy covering the public space of the grand plaza. Other buildings at the center include the Meyerson Symphony Hall by I.M. Pei and the Booker T. Washington Arts Magnate School by Allied Works of Portland, Oregon. Michel Desvigne of Paris conceptualized the landscape for the grand plaza and JJR –Chicago was the project landscape architect. The AT&T Center was awarded a 2011 National ASLA Award.
